Gissler & Pass wins World Star Award 2010

With its celebratory presentation of the World Star Award on 17 May 2011 at the Interpack event in Düsseldorf, Gissler & Pass won the international 'Oscar' of the packaging industry for the fifth time in its history!

The 'Listerine' sales display from Johnson & Johnson convinced the international jury of the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) in the 'Health & Beauty' category through its optimum combination of the display's high brand recognition value - with a true-to-product reproduction of the Listerine bottle - and a very good product access.

The condition for participating in the World Star Award is having previously won a national packaging competition. Gissler & Pass successfully passed this hurdle on winning the German Packaging Award in autumn 2010.

Lutz Werner, packaging developer at Gissler & Pass and award winner for the idea of the display: "The design of the bottle was the guiding theme during the design and construction. The unique diagonally crossed contoured posters give the display 3D-elements, create a spatial product experience and minimise the material required. The association with a supersize product ensures that the customer's interest is captured and that the display also maintains its attractiveness even during the sale.“

Kim Schumann, Johnson & Johnson and Lutz Werner, Gissler & Pass (r.) receive the World Star Award.

"We are very proud to be able to walk away with this innovative sector Oscar from the packaging industry. Once again, this award proves how important a development and design team is which excels through innovation, creativity, technical intelligence and quality,“ said Thomas Gissler-Weber, Managing Director of Gissler & Pass GmbH with regards to the award. “We would like to thank Johnson & Johnson for their good and close collaboration. Because it is only when all of the parties involved are clear about the brand philosophy and the aims of the marketing campaign right from the start that the promotion will be successful at the point of sale.
